Life, and all that is in it.

we all have that

Hey OB,

Yes, we all have that one bugbear which keeps our feet firmly on the ground. MaMo does PCNLs beautifully, no doubt. But like I always say, we are only as good as our last mistakes. Yesterday we did a mini perc, he used laser instead of litho, patient was a shippie and MaMo did it so beautifully, he require only one stitch and no nephrostomy. But before that when we put the dj stent, it just wouldn't go in the right place. Then we started wondering it the guide wire was in a false passage. But we had done the entire surgery injecting die through that ureteric catheter! Struggled for 20mins. Made him supine with lithotomy. Struggled for 1.5 hours. The guide wire just kept going through a false passage. The URS scope was going through q false passage. At the end the ureteric orifice looked like an old man. MaMo was exhausted, angry, frustrated. My heart went out to him. Just finished his case. He still isn't speaking to me. But he did drop message that he was going to be late by an hour, which he has never done before. Surprise surprise! #tomandjerry

Come and do PCNLs with him for a week;)? I think it's a swell idea.

Also, are you doing them in spinal? May I speak out of turn, with your permission? Do you think GA might be easier, because you can bring the kidney down with respiration etc? We do that if we want to avoid a high puncture. Sorry sorry. I know it's terrible to act like a surgeon when I'm not. Forgive me.

We all have our waterloos.....and this one is easily conquerable;) I have some which are not remediable at all!!

Reached home and relaxing with puru.

Looking forward to finishing the planning for vietnam. Kashmir next year, I promise.
