Life, and all that is in it.

the sun isn't contested, but what if?

Every natural resource that can be contested for, is contested for. Water, land, oil, forests, have been fought over. Even the moon. The moon race is on, thanks to some of us who believe in, 'multiplanetary species,' while knowing full well that there is no Planet B.

What if the sun was contested?

The sun rises, shines, sets, each day, according to a set routine. What if a dictator one day decided that his great country, in order to be great again, should take over the sun in the name of freedom and communism simultaneously, and decide when to shine the sun and when not? What will happen? One nation, and ultimately, one person, would decide where and when there would be light. Imagine the consequences. Food, gone. Animals, gone. Water resources, gone. Daily weather, disrupted. Global weather, upended. The whole global order destroyed. Because everything goes back to the sun, remember? The phytoplankton in the ocean, bottom of the food chain. Grass in the continents, bottom of the food chain. When the sun goes, the food chain goes. Life goes.

Maybe that is why God has not kept the sun under humans, yet!
