the guest part 4
(she reached the Castle earlier than usual. She opened the frosted window to allow some afternoon warmth inside, and lingered for a moment, feeling it gently stroke her face. This was her time alone, where she could steal away a few minutes from the world to write down her thoughts to the Good Old Doctor, travelling half way around the world.))
My dearest PeePeeDoc,
I waited and waited for your reply to my little piece of gossip which in the annals of time, might get labelled 'history', or the anthropology of a people. But I couldn't wait any longer, and decided to go ahead and continue another story.
Today, i believe, is the birthday of Fraulein PeePeeDoc! What a delightful day it must be at home! How do you all celebrate? How is it conventionally done in your culture? In our culture we insist upon a cutting cake and we meet all the elders and seek their blessings. What have you planned for her? It brings me to my other question? What is your love story? At what exact moment did you know she was the one for you? Do you gulp down huge breaths of the scent of her hair and skin?
I will now tell you my story, how i met the Love of My Life. I met the Count at a gathering when I was 13 years old. It was a simulation of real life events on an international body (i believe in the years to come it might be named a MUN) and we both represented alphabetically adjacent countries. We sat and chatted for three days, without a care in the world for international conflicts enacted in the conference of international bodies. He was shorter than me, with huge glasses which made his eyes look like those of a bee. He was the cutest bee i had ever seen! Two years past and i reconnected with him briefly to enquire about extra assistance for a particular academic pursuit. (I believe in the years to come, this might be called Coaching classes?) He is a year older than me, and had secured top position in the country's list! Our association continued to be an annual meeting till I joined medical college and sought to borrow his bone set. Don't cringe, my dear PeePeeDoc. Yes! This is a set of human bones the sexton has dug up from VolgoGrad's cemetery!! It is a secret we kept safely guarded, from our local Vicar. For ten years after this encounter we meet each Sunday for a walk, and i would wait eagerly for the weekend to come. He is a different personality, and doesn't like too much interaction and connection (because God has made each of us different), and so I would bottle up my feelings for him, and patiently wait for him to send a message. After ten years, he proposed to me in a candle lit room and i was the happiest i thought I could ever be! We got married in December 2011 and in 2013 I had my sweetest son, followed by my second son in 2015. It's been an amazing journey with him, with alot of ups and downs, as with everyone else. We will stay together till 1735 (circa 2035), when I plan to go overseas on a mission, and i still take deep breaths of his clothes when I fold them and keep them in his cupboard. Today he has a tiny bald spot on the top of his head which I sometimes kiss if he's sleeping. It feels nice to feel the smoothness of a scalp which has no follicles. He is my entire youth, and for that I will always have fondness for him. One day, when I'm old and my memory fails me, I will forget all his mistakes and will relive the original, unsoiled love he had for me! Till that day comes, i will not return to him.
I await your reply. Our postman has left for Moscow and may take a long while till he returns.
My best to your family!
Much love,
Madame D
((She stubs our the candle and sees the tears smudging the page. Should she send this letter? Will it be too painful for PeePeeDoc to read? She pushes her shoulders back and pushes the letter threw the window, on the wings of an eagle.))
