the future
Recently I have met a lot of people who have repeated this line, "AI will replace most jobs in the future." "Well my job is secure," I think to myself. I know anesthetists and surgeons are physically required to do the manual act of both skill sets, so while robotics and AI might eliminate/ enhance the intellectual skills of physicians and radiologists, I am pretty secure. The next line is often "ensure your kids take a field that doesn't get obsolete in the future." That gets me thinking: all the performing arts can be done by AI. You can generate AI movies, AI songs, AI books, AI content, AI ads. Scientists? Partly AI, partly human driven. Finance? Entirely AI. All algorithms can be studied by bots which will interpret market trends. Law: I'm confused about this one. Technically lawyers and judges can be replaced by algorithms that decree what is just and unjust, using past precedents etc. In fact, it might eliminate wilyness and cunning, and long slow legal set backs, especially in a country with a snail-paced legal system in operation. Religion: the biggest business in our country. It can be replaced by AI sermons, podcasts, sadgurus and Sri sris can be replaced by sadbots, and all the humans will listen like mice following a common brain. Trading/ supply chain: the most easy to replaced with robots. Maids, drivers, labourers: all replaceable. Defence forces: drones
So that leaves us with politicians, criminals, surgeons, anesthetists.
What will our kids actually do?
