Life, and all that is in it.

silence

I love silence. Not the complete silence of death. The silence of nature, when the only sounds one can hear are the chirping of birds, the rustle of leaves, the drops of dew falling from leaves into puddles left by earlier rain, and, the oh so lovely hum of a distant stream. I get lost in that silence. My ears search for sounds, and I can hear my heart beat, lub-dub, lub-dub, inside my chest.

These are the moments when I wish time would stop, or slow down, and swallow me into its silent dimension.

Time, we all have it, we have all seen it pass by, we can measure it, but we can never hold it, grasp it, and do with it what we want.

Imagine the extreme power we would have, if we had the power to do with time what we do with matter... We have destroyed matter, built it, extracted from it, compressed it, exploded it, used it, recycled it. Imagine if we could do the same things with time...
