Hey OB,
Thank you for the history lesson.....can i #flex? I have walked through the gardens of Alhambra! They are the most stunning gardens in the world with some of the Finest specimens of Islamic architecture. If you haven't seen it, please add it to your bucket list alongside Morocco.
I was also referring to the song Aisha, when I alluded to Khaled. My bad, not Moroccan, Algerian. That's about as different as a gujarati and a maharashtrian right?
I am a bit tense today, hence didn't text in the morning. In a donor kidney today. We went a bit fast, so now waiting for PFS sir to finish the bed and give us the green signal to clip. So my kidney is nice and turgid, and I'm hoping they take it soon. It's a loving mother Rehana, giving to her 30 year old son. You can imagine her prayers: strong, powerful, reaching straight to the ears of God. She is an Indian based in Oman.
The reason I'm tense, I haven't told you. Actually I concealed it from you because I don't ever talk about other people's complications, because we are all only as good as our last mistakes, right? So MaMo's last donor at jaslok was stressful. He came to me at BCH after the case, and as he put in the URS scope into our patient, his junior called saying the donor collapsed on extubation. He washed out and ran there, by which time they had opened her up. Very unfortunately, the renal artery clip had slipped and the patient had bled a significant amount. Malav came back after two hours, having aged ten years. I had finished the next case, a dj removal in another OT, for him, and was waiting for him to complete the rest of the list which is beyond my skill set obviously. I don't think I have prayed for anyone, the way I have for that donor. Once again, a mother to a son. She was on supports for a couple of days, then got extubated and finally went home. Poor MaMo's beard has turned white. He is a meticulous surgeon. This was just really unfortunate. So I could feel his stress from yesterday, for today's case, and was chanting continuously in my mind, to invoke divinity in the OT. I want this case to go well.
#pray.
Tell me how many cakes you cut??? What did the family do at home? Did you have a feast for dinner??
