Thank you for the reply. It was insightful and thought provoking. I will tell antu and then have a discussion with him on Races. To be honest, at the risk of being "non woke", I do believe some races are superior at certain things. Why are we afraid to admit it? Ofcourse EVERY RULE IS ONLY AS GOOD AS ITS EXCEPTION. The white Man (caucasian) : tremendous organisational skills. Wily, manipulative, adventurous, fearless
The black man (race negro): athletic, strong, tremendous talent in music, innate rhythm, grace. Intelligent, kind, can be manipulated. Lacks organisational skills, fearful
The yellow man (mongoloid): structurally smaller, very intelligent, unadventurous, moves in packs, organised.
Yes, you expressed that very beautifully, that there has been a huge element of "natural selection" in an unnatural way representing the African American diaspora today. So maybe that's why they are harder faster stronger. But we can't deny that there are physiological differences between the races which can't be ignored. African patients are made of different stuff. Arab patients are made of different stuff. The Maldivian patient of Indian ancestry behaves exactly like an Indian patient under anesthesia. I always tell you, a person's health is visible after induction. That's when even that super fit 90 year old ajji shows her fragility. Same way I feel people show their strengths and weaknesses under anesthesia and each of these races act differently. The black patients require higher doses for induction. Their arm-brain circulation time is longer. They need more frequent top ups of relaxants. The Indians require almost nothing to knock them out. The Arabs require alot more than the Indians, but less than the africans. And there are african Arabs, who are mixed, but behave like "blacks" under anesthesia. Am I making sense to you?
Please don't be cross because I used the word black. I'm referring to them purely as a race. Can you deny that there are differences between us all? As a doctor, think and give me your answer. You have practiced all over.
I will get back with what antu has to say. I'm sure in his brain, he will throw up some questions and counter arguments I will have to pass on to OB. #outofsyllabusofAai
