Life, and all that is in it.

reply to the reply to the Spider (part 1)

  1. Till the birth of the Prophet Muhammed (PBUH), the sons of Abraham practiced Wahhabism? Is that correct?

No.

Our belief is - all humans are born Muslim, but due to social compulsions, teaching, or personal choice, they choose to follow paths other than Islam.

There was a continuous line of Prophets, even at the same time, preaching to all cities, all civilizations. (There is a thought that Gautam Buddha was a Prophet as well. There is a mention in the Quran of a Prophet called Zil-Kifl, which translates to Kappal Vastu ka Shehzada, but we are not sure) So, over the years, Prophets came and went, and religion was corrupted.

Case in point - The Torah was never written down, and the Rabbis then corrupted it to suit their needs, then after a pogrom Rabbis died, and whatever was left in the collective memory of the Jews was put into the written form. There is no gold standard book to compare it with. Hence the laws were changed as per the whims of the Rabbis. The same happened with the Church-Kings pacts of Mediaeval Europe, where the Church would do what the Kings would ask of them. (King Richard and his eight wives).

So, no, that was not Wahabbism. That was some corrupted form of scripture less teachings, before the advent of Islam

The word Islam, comes from the prayer of the Prophet Abraham (PBUH). He prayed that the followers of Allah should be called Muslims, and follow Islam, which loosely translates to 'submission to Allah.'
