(PPD was awoken by the terrible claps of thunder. The Karanja had sailed right into an Atlantic storm and the ship was being tossed from side to side and it seemed to PPD that the ship may list and go under. It didn't. The hallways filled with the sounds of people struggling to stand upright. He felt an uneasiness rise from his stomach to his head and then, in one swoop, the contents of his dinner were deposited in his mouth. He spat it out in the basin, grateful for the small comforts second class afforded.
His brain lit up and his fingers twitched. He was climbing out of the hole of writer's block. As soon as the ship would stabilise, he would begin to write. Empty stomach or not.)
