Hey OB,
White horse: maybe you could lend it to my Knight in shining armour, and trade him for his donkey? I will feel infinitely happier to climb on a white horse at mahalakshmi station than a donkey, lest Gayatri Rangachari Shah drives past and sees her diminutive neighbour on Eeyore.
MaMo: so this is a long story. Bear with me, and please please don't judge me. I started free lancing maybe 8 years ago, and two years after working with dnyanesh, father in law, filling in for senior anesthetists, MaMo came back from Ahmedabad, and our common friend Nimisha told him to call me. He called me randomly out of the blue and we began working together. Slowly, his work picked up and I started refusing other surgeons. At one point he and Abhishek were 80 percent of my work. Then COVID hit we were on COVID floors and the entire dynamic changed. Working became crazy and I don't know how we survived those 2 years. When things opened up again, MaMo and i continued at two charitable hospitals, where we were paid a pittance, but had a great working relationship, touch wood, and when we are together he has to just raise his eyebrows or scratch his beard in a certain way and I know what he wants as the next step. However at this point of time our relationship somehow became very unequal, and he became a boss and I became an employee. I don't honestly know how and why that happened, but I found myself refusing breach candy work with abhi, for malav. Everyone thought I was nuts. To give you perspective, abhi pays me 50k for a case. Malav pays me 14k for a case, on a good day! I always believe in working for the patient, and not for money, so I stuck to my guns and continued to put Malav before everyone else. At some point i began to feel he was really stamping all over me. I would be waiting for hours, doing all sorts of work, rescheduling everything a million times, and he would not even say where he was, (he is super secretive). At that point, antu started this music journey and funds became tighter because dnyanesh is more into painting that anything else. I am the bread winner and that's ok, I don't believe gender should be role defining. But anyway, all this justification was to tell you why I started preferring Abhishek's list, because the remuneration was more, and we are equals. That being said, malav is still the more gifted surgeon and his overall medical knowledge and ethics are spot on. Oh my, what a long rant that was! Please don't think I'm greedy and self serving. I have a home to run, as does everyone else:(
Sopore Hospital not doing well: I'm truly sorry to hear that. I always feel so satisfied for you, that you don't have to do shitty cases/ cut practice just to churn the wheel. You can lead a life with your Head held high. It's a shame that corruption is so so deep rooted, and i pray that it resolves soon! Or maybe you guys get other insurance tie ups and the hospital becomes an option for more diverse stratas? There must be some way!!
Fish tackle: lovely pictures. I'm envious of how cool is it there! What is a fish tackle??? Mr. Shaw is into some fishy business!
Ofcourse you would like Mr. Noah's writing! He is just YOU! That's the book that you are going to write:) (I want to co author a book with you, because you are just so damn talented!) But I know you will have a solo book before that.
I finished my vaccine party (had to give shingrix to three oldies) and now am in the robo.
Antu: he is well, touch wood. He also enjoyed his brothers birthday party very much, because another younger sibling of one of the boys, was invited. His next show is the blind school show on the 22nd. I'm greatly looking forward to that:)
