mysteryfurniture
For a man who isn't prone to impulse buys, and is frugal enough to subsist on a stone floor, what is the TRUCK FULL of furniture that you have purchased?????
I always wondered what those trucks on the highway contain, you know, with the "boori nazar wala tera mooh kaala" and "horn ok please" and "safe distance" and "naila" and "firoz" with the colourful mud flaps and customised graffiti. I love their expressions. I wonder who Naila must be....how old Firoze is ..and who do they imagine to be casting the evil eye on the Ashok Leyland 1983 model.

But now, when I see one in front of me I will remember the Kashmiri doctors who went all the way to Delhi to buy furniture.
Ironically, I have a table that's all the way from Kashmir!

I took it from Woodlands, my grandfather had bought it when he was stayed in Kashmir. The cat is from Egypt. The sketch is of Chopin's house in Poland which my dad bought for me when he was on a work trip, when I was a teen. I need to go there one day to pay homage. (And ether dome in MGH). The phone is from MTNL. Doesn't work half the year.
I am enjoying being home in the evening. MaMo got done fast. My morning case was from 7am-2pm (ran three house over time!!!) It was a bit of a nightmare, but these things happen. I missed the BCH list, and straight away induced MaMo. 1 coffee in 8 years was also because there was NO WHERE else he could have sat. So we made awkward conversation and drank in stilted silence. Don't worry, he will be good to you. He likes everyone, except for me. Sigh.
