Life, and all that is in it.

day 6 vietnam

Hey OB van kanobe,

Quin chow from Hanoi. This city is awful! It's just like Mumbai!!note, I don't say Bombay, because Bombay was infinitely better than Mumbai is! This city is unfriendly, dirty and rushed. People roam around like zombies, and because the North was the victorious in the war, you can see their cold superiority, laziness and rudeness. We went on a city day tour, of which the highlights were an incense making class, the stunning Mausoleum of Ho Chi Minh where his body has been embalmed, and a gorgeous pagoda. I am a huge fan of Ho Chi Minh. I think he was a motivated, brilliant man, utterly devoted to a cause, with an uncommon resilience. Sounds familiar? Ummmm......maybe I know one such man.

I loved the Buddha Pagoda, and prayed for your safety return on the three rounds of parikrama that I took around the Peepal tree. Come back safe, please please please.

Tried a delicious coffee recommended by none other than MaMo (in the three sentences he said to me before I left), called egg coffee. It was fantastic. I was upset because it contained sugar and i only realised after i ordered it, despite telling them 500 times (no suga ok? No suga!)

Now I won't be able to have sugar on the next family birthday cake, and dammit, that's my own birthday!

We are back in the room, bathed and feeling fresh. Tomorrow is a bit of a crazy day with a trek and some kayaking and some temple hopping thrown in for good measure.

How are you my good man? Are you happy? Are you well fed? Decently fed? You will curse me for these many rtts once you are back into network area.

Well it's your fault for not staying in the game buddy!!

Prayers always,

#seeyouontheotherside
